Green Design and Energy Efficiency

Golden Rule incorporates a number of green elements in our standard construction practices, such as a cellulose cocoon insulation package, 2" x 6" framing of exterior walls, vapor barrier house wrap, increased R-value of the building envelope, use of sun tunnel skylights, low-E insulated windows, and range exhaust vented to the outside.

You may also choose to incorporate various green features such as tankless water heaters and high efficiency, Energy Star-rated appliances. Multiple green choices are available in the area of product selection. For example, low-VOC interior paint, flooring made of environmentally friendly materials, and compact fluorescent lighting, are some of the options available to make your home more earth friendly.

We can incorporate features of universal design into your home to assure ease of use and accessibility without sacrificing your home's beauty. Examples include wider doorways, on-grade entry, comfort height toilets, designer grab bars supported by additional blocking, and lever door hardware.
